Minerva Theatre

Theatre & Venue, Chichester

The Minerva Theatre is a studio space attached to Chichester Festival Theatre, seating approximately 280 in a flexible auditorium. Opened in 1989, it provides a more intimate setting for new writing, revivals, and experimental work that would not suit the larger Festival Theatre stage. The Minerva has developed a strong reputation for championing new plays and musicals, several of which have transferred to London. The theatre is named after the Roman goddess Minerva, reflecting Chichester's Roman heritage. It shares its foyer, bar, and restaurant facilities with the Festival Theatre. The programming runs alongside the main Festival season and includes a mix of drama, comedy, and musical theatre.
